The Certified Nurse Midwife provides independently managed full-scope midwifery
services. CNM will provide patient centered midwifery, gynecology, primary
care and preventative health care services with great opportunities to
expand clinical skills and knowledge.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses work independently and in collaboration
with physicians and other health care professionals to provide primary
health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion
and disease prevention. Asseses and manages common acute and chronic illnesses
along with consulting and making referrals to physicians and other members
of the health care team as appropriate.
Physician assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice
medicine with physician supervision. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities,
PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret
tests, counsel on preventive health care, and assist in surgery. Within
the physician-PA relationship, physician assistants exercise autonomy
in medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and
therapeutic services. A PA's practice may be specialized based on
their level of training and may also include education, research, and
This position will demonstrate a high degree of clinical independence and
expertise. The CNM, CNP or PA educates patients and their families to
promote wellness, diagnose and manage disease, when necessary. The CNM,
CNP or PA will work in partnership in the care of pregnant patients and
makes consultation and referrals as needed with the collaborating physician.
Ohio RN Licensure, Ohio Advance Practice RN License and BLS required. Certified
as a Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practioner and graduate of an accredited school
of nursing and Advance Practice Registered Nurse program are also required.
Physician Assistant candidates are requred have BLS, Graduate from an approved
AMA Physician Assistant Program, previous experience in a hospital setting
and appropriate licensure by the State of Ohio as a Physician Assistant.
Previous experience in OB/GYN practice preferred.
