Temporary Patient and Visitor Restrictions
As of
June 11, 2020, we have updated the visitor policy for Henry County Hospital. The following
guidelines apply to patients within the hospital and clinical care areas
at Henry County Hospital.
For Birthing Care Services patients, two designated visitors for labor, delivery, and duration of mother’s
hospital stay.
For Inpatient Care Services and Intensive Care Services patients, one designated visitor per patient for the duration of the patient’s
stay will be permitted except under specific circumstances, and by prior
approval from Henry County Hospital’s leadership team. The exceptions are:
- End-of-life care: More than one visitor could be permitted.
For Emergency Care Services patients, one designated visitor per patient for the duration of the patient’s
stay will be permitted.
- Visitors of patients who become a Patient Under Investigation (PUI) while
being treated will be asked to leave.
For Surgical Care Services patients, one designated visitor per patient for the duration of the patient’s
stay will be permitted.
- When the patient is in surgery, the visitor will wait in the Welcome Center,
unless Surgical Care Services can allow the visitor to stay in the patient
pre-op room.
- Patients scheduled for local anesthesia for pain management procedures
will be encouraged to not have visitors.
- Inpatient visitors will be allowed to accompany the patient to the preoperative
area and remain with the patient until they go into surgery. They will
then be escorted back to the inpatient room and will remain there until
the patient returns.
For Medical Practices patients, one designated visitor per patient.
For all outpatient appointments in Cardiac Rehab, Laboratory Services,
Rehabilitative Services and Respiratory Therapy no visitors will be permitted except under specific circumstances. The
exceptions are:
- Parent/Guardian of a minor
- Support person for a dependent adult
For Medical Imaging Services patients, no visitors will be permitted except under specific circumstances. The
exceptions are:

One designated visitor per patient for obstetrical ultrasound
- When OB patients need bloodwork done after their ultrasound, their visitor
will be asked to leave the building
- One designated visitor per patient for interventional procedures
- Parent/Guardian of a minor
- Support person for a dependent adult
If a visitor is approved based upon the criteria above, they must also follow the below guidelines for the safety of staff and
other patients:
- Visitors will be screened for flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough,
or shortness of breath, and will not be able to stay if symptomatic.
- No visitors under the age of 18 (exceptions may apply in Birthing Care
Services or Emergency Care Services).
- Visitors must wear a mask.
- Patients and visitors will both be masked while visiting.
- Once the designated visitor arrives, the designated visitor should remain
in the patient’s room as much as possible (e.g. no in-hospital trips
to the cafeteria, gift shop, etc.). Access to restrooms is permitted.
- No visitors for COVID-19 positive patients.
- The clergy may visit if the patient designated the member of the clergy
as their visitor.
