The Henry County Hospital Board of Directors held their monthly board meeting
on Monday, November 3, 2014 in the Heller Community Room at Henry County
Hospital. Present at the meeting were Dr. Joseph Krueger; Chairman, Marv
Barlow; Vice Chairman, Kimberly Bordenkircher, Chief Executive Officer;
Rick Fruth, Anne Goon, Dr. Morris Seal, Tom Mack, John Wilhelm and Jim
Burkhart. Also present were Patricia Frank, Chief Nursing Officer; Diane
Walther, Controller; and Lee Ann Druhot, Executive Assistant.
Kim Bordenkircher, Chief Executive Officer, presented the hospital monthly
report to the Board of Directors:
- Mr. Ryan Thomas has accepted the position of Plant Engineering Manager
at Henry County Hospital. His start date was October 21, 2014. Ryan was
the Facilities manager at Community Hospital in Hicksville. Jerry Erven
will remain in his position through December 31, 2014. Mr. Jerry Erven
will be staying at the hospital in a Data Analyst role.
- Patty Frank and Kim Bordenkircher attended the Best Places to Work Gala
in Chicago on October 23, 2014. I am excited to announce Henry County
Hospital placed at #44. Last year we placed at #64. The effort from the
leadership team to move up 20 points while implementing significant changes
in benefits including health insurance is a testament to their dedication
and competence. I am so grateful to work with an excellent team of leaders.
This was the fifth year of making the list. Only two organizations have
made the list seven times, which is the number of years the program has
been in existence. Henry County Hospital has made the list for the number
of times we have applied (which is five times). Only twelve organizations
have made the list five times!
- ProMedica is coordinating a coalition of hospitals and other healthcare
providers in support of Medicaid expansion. The current Medicaid expansion
expires with the State budget in June 2015. Kim Bordenkircher is participating
in this coalition.
Diane Walther, Controller, presented the financial statements for September
2014. There were 63 admissions and 5 births through September. Days in
accounts receivable remained the same at 54.
The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2014 in the
Heller Community Room.
