Henry County Hospital Foundation, Inc. wrapped up its five year Building
for the Future…Completing Our Community capital campaign with a
celebration breakfast
hosted at Henry County Hospital. The capital campaign raised funds to
support the remodel of Henry County Hospital, which was completed in 2008.
The remodel enhanced patient-centered care, safety, effectiveness, timeliness,
and efficiency throughout the hospital.
A Steering Committee was developed to spearhead the Building for the Future…Completing
Our Community capital campaign in 2006. Nine of the sixteen Steering Committee
members reconvened at Henry County Hospital on January 31st to celebrate
the success of the campaign and how the funds raised provided enhanced
healthcare for the residents of Henry County. “We are blessed to
have a hospital in our community where you know the staff and can expect
excellent service,” commented Don Moore, Steering Committee member.
Steering Committee co-chairs, Andy Anderson and Brent Gerken spoke to the
attendees, reminding them of the very first meetings and how 5 years later,
what was once thought of as a nearly impossible goal of $1.5 million was
now met through contributions and pledges. An anonymous donation of over
$16,000 was given on January 30th and provided, to the penny, what was
needed to reach the campaign goal. This goal includes contributions that
continue to be received for pledges made during the capital campaign.
The co-chairs thanked the members of the committee for their hard work
and willingness to support such a needed cause. “Henry County is
truly a great place to live. It is full of passionate individuals who
are willing to make a difference in the community,” stated Andy Anderson.
Kim Bordenkircher, CEO of Henry County Hospital offered Hospital updates,
noting the recent accomplishments of being named one of the Best Places
to Work by Modern Healthcare two consecutive years, receiving the Top
Performer designation from Professional Research Consultants, Inc., and
receiving recognition for leading the nation in responding fastest to
patient needs. “Just as the capital campaign propelled the hospital
to better serve the residents of Henry County and the surrounding area,
Henry County Hospital is continuing to do what is needed to prepare for
the future,” stated Kim Bordenkircher.
Present at the celebration breakfast were Steering Committee co-chairs,
Andy Anderson and Brent Gerken, Kim Bordenkircher, Gene Grime, Jack Krueger,
Don Moore, Connie Panning, Mike Saneholtz, and Lynn Wachtmann. Members
of the Steering Committee who were unable to attend: Dexter Benecke, Pat
Bilow, Ken Frysinger, Nancy Hogrefe, Anna McMaster, MD, Glenn Miller,
and Cheryl Robbins.
