The Henry County Hospital Board of Directors held their monthly board meeting
on Monday, December 2, 2013 in the Heller Community Room at Henry County
Hospital. Present at the meeting were Dr. Joseph Krueger; Chairman, Marv
Barlow; Vice Chairman, Kimberly Bordenkircher, Chief Executive Officer;
Rick Fruth, Tom Mack, Dr. Robert Limbird, John Wilhelm, Anne Goon, Dr.
Douglas Lindsey and Jim Burkhart. Also present were Diane Walther, Controller;
Patricia Frank, Chief Nursing Officer; Kristi Barnd, Quality Improvement
Manager and Lee Ann Druhot,
Executive Assistant.
Kim Bordenkircher, Chief Executive Officer, presented the hospital monthly
report to the Board of Directors:
· The Auxiliary elected the officers for next year:
- Nancy Schink – President;
- Nancy Bennett – Vice President;
- Penny Rowley – Secretary;
- Kathy Hoover – Treasurer;
- Jane Hoeffel – Assistant Treasurer.
· Mr. Jeff Pompos has accepted the position of Information Technology
Manager. His first day of employment was Tuesday, November 10, 2013. Mr.
Pompos has a Bachelor of Science - Business Management, University of
Findlay. Mr. Pompos brings with him many years of experience in the Information
Technology field. He was employed at St. Luke's hospital in Maumee,
Ohio from 1991-2006. When he left St. Luke's he was the Information
Systems Security Administrator. Most recently he was employed at Genoa
bank from 2007-2013 as the Assistant Vice President of Information Technology.
· Tanna Ellert RN, BSN has accepted the position as Nurse Manager
of the Inpatient, Intensive Care, and Birthing Care Services Department.
Mrs. Ellert has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Ohio University
and is currently pursuing a dual Master's Degree in Nursing and Business
Administration. She has previous work experience in several clinical areas,
including Public Health and OB. Recently, Mrs. Ellert has been working
as the Staff Educator at Henry County Hospital where she has already demonstrated her
desire to adopt evidence-based practices and make a positive impact on
each department of the hospital. Mrs. Ellert's first official day
will be January 5th, 2014.
· We just completed fiscal year 2013 in which we received 1829
recalls of which 1782 were processed within one week of receipt which
is our operational definition of being properly processed. Our goal for
the year was 95% and we actually achieved 97%.
Dr. Jain comes to Henry County Hospital with an impressive background
in urology. His professional credentials include being board certified
by the American Board of Urology. He is currently the Chief of the Urologic
Oncology Division and Medical Director of the Urology Clinic at The University
of Toledo Medical Center.
- Dr. Jain practices the following aspects of Urology including but not limited
to Urologic Cancers: Prostate, Bladder, Kidney, and Testicular with expert
fellowship training in Robotic Surgeries and Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic
and Endoscopic Surgery.
- Dr. Jain is now accepting new patients at The University of Toledo Medical
Center Urology at Henry County Hospital located in the West Medical Office
Building at Henry County Hospital. Dr. Jain will see patients on Wednesdays
stating October 30th.
· The goal for Lean savings for fiscal year 2013 was 78,075 that
end of the year total savings was $121,673. This is the result of a great
deal of work from the entire leadership team.
· Diane Walther, Controller, presented the financial statements
for October 2013. There were 50 admissions and 10 births through October.
Days in accounts receivable decreased to 43.
The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2014 in the
Heller Community Room.
