Henry County Hospital Sleep Center is now open and accepting new patients.
The Sleep Center offers patients access to high quality sleep diagnostic
testing, in a private “home-like” setting.
Sleep disorders disrupt millions of people’s lives every day. The
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that an estimated
50-70 million US adults have a sleep or wakefulness disorder, with snoring
being a major indicator of obstructive sleep apnea.
“If you are not well-rested, it is difficult to live well,”
commented Kim Bordenkircher, Chief Executive Office of Henry County Hospital.
“Improving one’s sleep aligns with Henry County Hospital’s
support of holistic wellness. I am pleased that Henry County Hospital’s
partnership with Mercy Health has assisted in bringing yet another needed
service to the community.”
The Sleep Center uses state-of-the-art noninvasive equipment that is monitored
by a qualified sleep technician during the patient's overnight stay.
The patient's heart rate, respiratory system, muscle activity, oxygen
levels, brain activity, sleep movement and body position are monitored
throughout the test. The results of the study provide the patient’s
sleep physician with the details to diagnose the patient's condition
and work with their primary physician on determining the appropriate course
of treatment.
Henry County Hospital Sleep Center is located at Henry County Hospital,
1600 East Riverview Avenue. The Sleep Center’s diagnostic testing
is available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Henry County Hospital
Sleep Center accepts most major insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid.
A referral from a physician is not required to undergo diagnostic testing,
however an order from your physician is necessary. For more information
